Quipos On Ice: Flexible mobile stadia solutions from Quipos Solutions enable a professional and high-tech approach to managing festive winter fun in Salzburg

 

Every year the beautiful Austrian town of Salzburg hosts a famous Christmas market. Amongst its star attractions is the temporary Ice Rink right on Mozartplatz Square.  Christmas 2011, however, was a bit different: with an enhanced customer experience for those visiting the Ice Rink and surrounding market stalls. Mobile handheld devices from Quipos Solutions were used to manage payments, skate hire and skating.

 

To celebrate the deployment of their revolutionary mobile infrastructure and Quipos One handhelds at the Salzburg Christmas market, Quipos Solutions invited customers and friends to a special Quipos On Ice event at the Salzburg Ice Rink.

 

 

Vouchers with 2D barcodes on were emailed to all guests, which entitled their bearers to free skate hire, skating and glühwein. The barcodes were then scanned from a printed copy of the invite or direct from a smartphone to ensure a seamless experience for customers, a simple aid for staff which ensured professional event management and seamless data capture about event attendees for the hosts, which was then used to inform future communication.
