RFID is becoming increasingly widespread. The wireless transmission of information via radio makes many things easier and faster. Its strengths were recognised first in production and logistics, now at the point of service. RFID enables loyalty cards, cashless payments, access and product information while shopping. Especially in the short range, RFID, and the related NFC, enable new services and offer potential for more customer orientation.
Of course, it would be no problem to connect the necessary readers, for example, via Bluetooth, when needed. But it would be better and more comfortable if the handheld could read all RFID standards for itself. And let’s make it smart: designed for future technologies such as NFC already. Then add, for real service quality, a “Card Assist” function. This feature makes it easy for service staff to scan RFID tags like loyalty cards, for example, securely and error-free.
